Help Send A Child To Camp
It is our belief at Camp Abe Lincoln that every child should have the opportunity to have an experience that camp can provide. Although the majority of our campers attend camp without any financial assistance, there are some that without that assistance would not be able to attend. As the Director of YMCA Camp Abe Lincoln, I have never had to turn a child away. It is my goal to never have to say no. Unfortunately, without the assistance of our community that goal would be impossible.
Each year the Scott County Family Y is part of the "Partner with Youth" campaign. This campaign is what makes our goal of no one being turned away possible. This year, our goal at camp is to raise $40,000 to help kids. Last year we scholarshiped more than we raised in the campaign and had to dip into our operational costs to make sure every child could attend.
If camp has effected you in some way and you would like to pass on that experience to a child, please help us by donating to our "Partner with Youth" campaign. Although it is our goal to complete the $40,000 camp campaign by March 13th, there will kids throughout the year that need your support.
Please don't make me tell a child like the one you see here that he can not attend camp this year because his parents couldn't afford it.
